Female boulder, the first verdicts
First round first minute. And the first results of the women’s bouldering event. It was a lightening fast start this morning the the boiling hot Climbing Stadium in Arco. And an impeccable start for the extremely strong Belgian athlete, the current leader of the World Ranking Chloé Graftiaux and Akiyo Noguchi from Japan, winner of the Bouldering World Cup 2009, who both lead the competition field with all four problems sent first go. Anna Stöhr from Austria is right behind them, with four tops and just one attempt more – she always times the important events perfectly.
Three tops means qualification to the Semifinals for the ex world Champion Olga Shalagina from the Ukraine and the 22-year-old revelationa AnneChevrier-Laure from France. They’re joined, with two tops, by reigning World Champion Yulia Abramchuk from Russia, Petra Klingler (SUI), Olga Bibik (RUS), Alex Johnson (USA), Maud Ansade (FRA), Mina Markovic (SLO) and Anna Galliamova (RUS).
Two tops, which equate to provisional 14th, also for Italian Jenny lavarda, who precedes Alexandra Eyer (SUI). The remaining to qualify, with just one top, are Elena Chiappa and Alexandra Ladurner from Italy, as well as Sabine Bacher (AUT), Melissa Le Neve (FRA) and Juliane Wurm (GER).
